Research and Learning

The Center commits itself to establishing and protecting the scientific rigor and spirit in all its activities. Recognizing the void in the applied integrative health or neurosciences research, especially in the developing country settings, the center will focus on two categories of research:

  1. Formative research, to guide the center in designing interventions, programs and solutions to suit the specific needs of the individuals, communities and context.

  2. Applied research, to pilot and evaluate laboratory tested interventions, programs and solutions in practical, real-life settings, in the fields of health and education. Applied research will also be undertaken to establish knowledge related to feasibility, sustainability and scalability of solutions.

Research will continue in informal settings as well. Inquiry based learning, a form of active learning that starts with observation, posing questions, problems or scenarios, will be encouraged as a culture of the center.

Research will employ both quantitative and qualitative methods, by a team of experts well-grounded in the subject expertise (integrative health, psychology, neuroscience, education, technology), research methods (epidemiology, implementation research, qualitative methods) and statistical analysis.

Center’s research and learning agenda has two-fold objective; firstly, to continually learn, innovate and refine solutions that enhance the center’s goals and objectives; secondly, to share with the world through scientific and social channels of communication and maximize the impact.
