Dr. Medha Rao is a distinguished physician, academician, and geriatric care expert with over 37 years of experience in teaching and consulting in medicine.

 

As the former Principal and Dean of M.S. Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore, and the Dean of Academics at Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, she has played a pivotal role in advancing medical education and research. She currently practices geriatric medicine at Ramaiah Hospital, Bangalore.

Her contributions extend to the international sphere, where she served as a member of the International Advisory Board for Davidson’s Textbook of Medicine (Editions 20, 21, and 22). Dr. Rao has authored two chapters on geriatric issues in the textbook’s case supplement, reflecting her commitment to addressing the unique healthcare needs of ageing populations. An astute clinician and passionate teacher, she focuses on integrating modern medicine with emerging public health priorities to enhance geriatric care in India and beyond.
