Dr. Margaret Schenkman, PhD, PT, is a globally recognized physical therapist, educator, and researcher. She is Professor Emeritus at the University of Colorado Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, where she led the Physical Therapy Program for 15 years. Dr. Schenkman’s groundbreaking research on exercise interventions for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease, funded by the US National Institutes of Health, has earned her international acclaim.

 

A practitioner of Heartfulness Meditation for 36 years and a trainer for 30 years, Dr. Schenkman has dedicated her recent years to exploring the interplay between meditation, consciousness, and wellbeing.

 

Her session will focus on how the combination of exercise and meditation, including Heartfulness practices, can support healthy ageing, enhance mental clarity, and improve quality of life.
